How the system works

Brandon Transit operates several fixed routes covering most of the city — downtown, Brandon University, Assiniboine Community College, major residential areas, and shopping nodes. Most routes run on a 30-minute frequency during weekdays.

Where to find current routes & schedules

The official source is the City of Brandon Transit page on brandon.ca. They publish the current route map, schedule PDFs, and any service alerts. Schedules shift seasonally and during summer (some routes reduced or rerouted).

Google Maps integrates Brandon Transit data for trip planning — type your origin and destination, choose transit. Usually accurate.

Fares & passes

Adult cash fare, plus reduced rates for students, seniors, and children. Day passes and monthly passes available. U-Pass programs exist for Brandon University and ACC students — typically bundled into student fees.

Handi-Transit / accessibility

Brandon Transit also operates Handi-Transit, a door-to-door service for residents who cannot use the regular bus system due to physical or cognitive disability. Registration and pre-booking required. Details and application on brandon.ca.

Service alerts & disruptions

During winter storms or major events, routes may be reduced or rerouted. The City of Brandon Facebook page is the fastest channel for service-disruption notices. brandon.ca/transit is the official source.

Inter-city travel

Brandon Transit is intra-city only. For Brandon-to-Winnipeg or other inter-city connections, current options are limited — Greyhound shut down, and replacement services have come and gone. Check Manitoba inter-city transportation listings for what's currently running.
