Public library programs

Western Manitoba Regional Library (Brandon branch) runs free story times, baby groups, summer reading programs, and kids' craft activities year-round. One of the best free family resources in Brandon. Schedules on their site.

Playgrounds & parks

Major parks with playgrounds: Riverbank Discovery Centre,Stanley Park, Eleanor Kidd Park,Coronation Park, Wascana Park. Several neighbourhood playgrounds across the city. Splash pads at select parks run June through August.

Swimming & recreation

Sportsplex Pool— Year-round indoor pool, kids' lessons, family swim times. Kinsmen Pool — Outdoor summer pool, family-friendly. The YMCA also has a pool and family programming.

Public skating at Keystone Centre and community rinks. Skate rentals available.

Day camps & summer programs

City of Brandon recreation programs include summer day camps for various age groups. YMCA runs summer camps. Several community organizations and churches run their own summer programs. Registration usually opens in March/April for summer.

Riverbank Discovery Centre

Worth its own bullet. The Riverbank Discovery Centre has nature trails, summer day camps, school programs, and family events through the year. Free to access; some programs paid.

Museums & cultural sites

Daly House Museum — Historic home, kid-friendly tours.Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum — Aviation history, hands-on for older kids. Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba — Family programming and exhibits.

Indoor entertainment

Bowling alleys, indoor trampoline park, movie theatres, escape rooms. Useful for long winters. Each business posts its own current hours and prices.
